I don't get why this is such a big deal. It doesn't affect the gameplay of the show whatsoever. It hurts nobody. It's a trivial, unimportant part of the show and people are losing sleep over this.

No one is losing sleep over this. No one is freaking out.

The 'big deal' though is not the a concrete issue, such as how much it affects the gameplay of the show or whatever. The change relates to an abstract concept. I know this is difficult for some people. So basically, words can refer to ideas, and sometimes those ideas represent values that a person may or may not agree with.

This is really hard. I'll stop here. You getting it so far? If you confirm that you understand I'll try to explain why a person might find this upsetting.

These shows aren't supposed to be scripted but there is discourse around a scripted line

I think the majority of people just shake their head and move on, yeah. We live in very strange era. For me, it's not that I disagree with it. It's more the relentless pursuit some people will go to showcase their political correctness. I personally theorize that poeple that do this are hiding something. Or at least a large chunk are.

Possibly. Others are just latching on. It's a very weird thing to get stuck on in a world with so much to fix.

It takes the viewers mind set out of the game. CBS in particular has a tendency to "remind" people how woke they are. Rather than just doing certain things, they have to remind the audience they're doing it. I consider myself a Survivor super fan but if Jeff Probst stopped saying "come on in, guys" I don't think I would even notice unless someone pointed it out.
