MGS2 is what, 20 years old? If someone hasn't played it or the first one by now, are they ever going to?

Where is the line drawn with spoilers? Some of these truths are becoming self evident.... If someone hasn't gotten into Harry Potter by now, does it matter that they know SOMEONE kills SOMEONE?

What are your milestones and bars for spoilers? At which points does it become irrelevant?

No. But I also understand I tend be be an exception. I don't mind spoilers for anything, even something I would've liked to find out myself. But for a lot of people, even if they know they probably won't ever bother with it, they still won't like having that knowledge given to them. And that's fine really, I don't see that as a problem that they have.

I'm on that page; I don't really care about spoilers, it's the journey etc

So we're the exception then I guess lol?

At least in terms of the GameFAQs rules, there is no line. You can't spoil any plot details of any story regardless of its age.

In the real world? Probably depends on context on why we're discussing it and if the person is actively going to try to experience the story. Like if someone said they were gonna start playing MGS2 and I just go blurt out the ending, I'm a dick.

If we're just overall having a discussion on specific types of story tropes and I drop a bit of MGS2 spoilers into the conversation where it makes sense without 'warning' someone, I think that's fine.
