With Michael Myers










The first one will always be classic, but I think I liked the Rob Zombie remake a little better. I liked how they gave us a little history on Michael and had a big guy play him as an adult. It made it more believable.

2018 was the perfect follow up to the original. Michael was the most savage in that one IMO. Even more so than the RZ movies.

I still think the original gets everything just right. Though obviously flawed as all things are, it's one of the films I consider perfect.

I don't think there's any bigger disparity in the slasher genre between the original movie's quality and the sequels than Halloween. The first movie is an excellent little exercise in ramping up tension with a great soundtrack and oozing atmosphere. Halloween 2018 is also very good.

Every other movie in the series is either so bad its good (2, 3, Ressurection) or outright just horrible (4, 5, 6, H20, both rob zombie movies)

The only comparable franchise that might have had an overall worse time is Hellraiser

As much as I like the first one's ending, it should have just ended with Mike dying. A sequel was unnecessary, and there was no way there wasn't gonna be one given him surviving at the end of the first.
