Women they have very clear societal privileges. If a couple gets divorced, the woman will be treated with extreme favor. A lot of children have been screwed out seeing their fathers this way and stuck living with an incapable mother.
So true. Also, women arent punished as harshly for assaulting men. Its almost a guarantee that women get alimony and child support even if its proven that theyre responsible for the marriage breaking up.

The very fact that courts dont do 50/50 equal custody by default is proof.

I've lived being considered one then the other.

Men have it so much easier. Bringing up things like assault isn't a privilege, it's a flaw of the criminal justice system's inequities... And it stems from misogynistic views.

And bringing up divorce cases still isn't a privilege. Never mind that most divorce cases are settled out of court and only get lawyers present to sign the fine print. Most men don't seek custody whatsoever and most who do are fine with split custody. When you take the fraction of cases that actually do have both parents seeking custody, it's usually the more financially stable one who wins. And even when the woman does, it's usually because she stopped working when she was raising the kids, so that's far more favorable yet still stems from inequitable conditions.

Privileges would be things like, men not worrying about the pill or abortion rights, but boner pills are covered by insurance no problem. And a man can get a vasectomy any time, a married woman with 3 kids still faces plenty of issues getting her tubes tied or her uterus removed because of other medical issues that may arise there.

The point is that the bodily autonomy of men is actually socially and legally enshrined, while women are constantly having ours challenged.

I don't always agree with you, but this is an obvious one for me. The only way I figure the poll is so onesided is because people are burned and think being a woman is some easy shit. Of course it's easier being a man, in almost every setting. White man? I mean goddamn, we're just seeing some shit now and it's breaking a lotta spirits.

Im gonna give CE an unwarranted benefit of the doubt and say yall are confusing most protected with most privileged.

To REALLY determine privilege, we have to look at disadvantages each group does not face.

Women face:

-Seen as less competent in fields like finance or management. Clients will literally tell a woman who leads a firm that they want to speak to a man instead. Harder to push higher in a corporate setting.

-If wanting to start a family, being the gender that must carry the child leads to its own discrimination in the workplace. Can physical disrupt your body as well as cause complications long term. Obviously puts a larger risk for women to have sex as well.

-Limiting child birth is more damaging for women. Contraceptives typically have adverse side effects on a woman that inconvenience them. Something a guy never even thinks about. A lot of guys barely even have to visit a doctor unless theres a pre existing condition.

-More than men, physical beauty is weighed more. Specifically for entertainers. Cosmetics are a social pressure that innately increases the financial burden of women.

-Gets catcalled and harassed constantly and their desires to be left alone are often ignored. Ive personally seen women in call centers get hit on from customers who owed money on the phone and be asked personal info. I really doubt a dude must worry about giving out his name to be found online too freely. Nor worry about being blocked if you smiled at the wrong guy.

-Men use 1000 different tricks to bed women, so women have more difficulty obtaining long term dating prospects. Drowning vs dying of dehydration.

-Women are typically and biologically weaker. So even simple shit like moving is a disadvantage since they may need help or have to pay for aid.

Guys have a disadvantage in:

-Harder to have social support as guys are conditioned to not expose mental or emotional issues.

-Its harder to have casual flings.

-Court, created and led by men, has less leniency for men.

.. Thats it? This is just me thinking for 3 minutes.

Who tf is picking women?

These figures are from 2012 so it's a bit out of date but still relevant about who holds the real power.

According to the BBC News website's findings, women represent
  • 1.3% of brigadiers (or their equivalent) and above across the Army, Navy and RAF
  • 13.2% of the most senior judges (High Court and above, including Senators of the College of Justice in Scotland)
  • 14.2% of university vice-chancellors
  • 16.6% of the most senior staff in the police (Acpo ranks and above)
  • 34.7% of the senior civil service
  • Currently, just one in seven board members at Europe's top firms are women.
  • Women hold 16% of directorships at the UK's 100 largest-listed companies. Ten years ago just 7.2% of board members were female.

This is again comparing unattractive men to attractive women. Unattractive women also fails on both of those things while likewise attractive men have it easier with those things.

This is not true. Idk if it's because of the internet, so womens' standards are higher now, but I've been seeing more and more men who are conventionally attractive, have money, etc., not being seen as worth s*** in terms of status, as a potential romantic partner, or even in the workplace because they're blindsided by the fact that they actually have to try.

Likewise, even a lot of "hot" guys are seen as creepy by women if they carry themselves a certain way or are alone.

Are you sure this isn't just certain men overestimating themselves? This is like one of those radfem groups reassuring themselves that they're desirable and that it's because men don't know a good woman when they see one.

To be faaaaair, those are pretty big things. >_>

Less so the casual flings but even then, considering sexuality is a bigger part of being a male than it is being a female, not being able to get it in when you really, really, really want to can be extremely frustrating, disheartening, and make you feel incredibly unattractive.

There's also some things that men have to deal with that woman don't, like:

-always having to prove their worth and not having intrinsic value like women have
-always being assumed to be creepy or not having good intentions when alone in certain social settings or situations
-having to deal with toxic masculinity (though to be fair, women have to deal with this shit too, just in a different way)
-always having to be the provider, always having to be the one with all the energy, the one who has to put themselves out there, etc.

It's still clear that it's pretty obvious that women in general have it worse than men but I think that society focuses so hard on the shit that they face that they kind of forget that men can be suffering from their own shit too.

As a man, I have never once felt like I have it harder than women.

As a half black man, I have felt like I have it harder than a full white man.

I'm not talking about myself, I'm talking about those dudes who post on /fit/, bodybuilding.com, Reddit, etc., who work out, have an attractive 7-8/10 face, and still end up whining about being virgins and never having a gf into their late 20's and 30's. I remember seeing an image of a dude with an 8/10-looking face who slept with the most ugly, unattractive, obese woman I've seen before in my life, because he was desperate to lose his virginity. I'm talking about s*** like that. Simply being physically attractive or even having other qualities deemed as "attractive," like being outgoing, friendly, positive, etc., simply aren't enough anymore.

I wasn't referring to you. I was referring to those men. Notice those men still post in exclusively male forums and are only being judged by other men. The equivalent of that are women caking themselves in clown make-up, growing long sharp nails, and wearing fashion that women praise each other for but generally men don't care about. Both these groups are only thinking about their own standards and opinions, not the opinions of the group they intend it for.

When it comes to dating? Women. By far. My bf and I did the "Tinder Challenge" thing where we both swipe right in front of each other, and even though he's attractive, he had maybe 10% as many matches as I did. We don't have to put ourselves out there and face potential rejection. Even when I give guys "the look," if he doesn't come over and talk to me, I can tell myself he was just shy, or just didn't understand, or didn't see. Guys have to put it all on the line when approaching women.

When it comes to school? Women. It's been shown that since most teachers are women, they tend to UNINTENTIONALLY teach in a way that favors girls. Boys (generally) learn better in competitive situations. For instance, where the teacher makes a game out of it, where there are clear winners and losers. Girls (generally) learn better through group work and cooperation.

The workplace? Men. Men, men men men men 10000000000. It's ridiculous how many opportunities I miss out on simply because I'm not one of the guys. Just... disheartening. I don't have the same interests or access to the boss as my male coworkers. And that's not to mention that I have to carefully toe the line between dressing attractively enough to be noticed, but not so attractive I'm seen as a bimbo. Because girls who dress like nuns are never going to get promoted, but girls who dress like barbies aren't going to get promoted, either.
