I'm a white man (well technically half but no one sees my Puerto Rican side) and I'd rather be a white woman all day. I could just say the word sex and men would come running.

Being white has not got me any position of power or any position of wealth. I think what people don't understand is well yes white men holds some of the best positions in the USA, I think that's just a benefit of being the majority, basically it just comes down to a numbers game.

Privilege is an extremely broad concept. Wed have to codify all aspects of it, give each one relative weight, and determine where each gender stands. Fuck all that.

It's absolutely fair to say that, at least historically, there have been barriers to non-whites attaining positions of power.

However, the VAST fucking majority of white people have a snowball's chance in hell of ever getting into those same positions of power either. We're just the same color as people who do. And that's why it's blatantly insulting and racist when people assume we're "better off" just because of it. No, white people aren't privileged; rich people from political / corporate dynasties are better off. Yes, most of them happen to be white; but that doesn't change shit about the fact that most white people are not from such backgrounds.

Sure, but the post I was replying to was talking about positions of power. And the general concept of what I was saying extends to basically everything else covered by that term too. Even if you can come up with some minor things where there really is a gap, that gap is NOTHING compared to the gap between average whites and the actually-privileged crowd. Like, the orders of magnitude of difference would itself have to be measured as an order of magnitude.

So once again. Stop fucking assuming we all have the same power, wealth, privilege, whatever other factor you want to focus on and/or call it, as other people who literally the ONLY thing we have in common with is our fucking skin color. That's textbook racism, and is no different whatsoever from something like "you're the same color as a thief I encountered once, you must be a thief too".

I've been sexually harassed by women at every job I've had. And never taken seriously.

That's the point though. Sure there's levels to the privilege.

The skin color is largely the privilege in itself.

Don't have to worry about being racially profiled. Don't have to worry about being accosted by police. Don't have to worry about being passed over for business loans, jobs, mortgages, and a thousand other different things because of your name, culture, and skin tone.

The skin color is surely an advantage but much more so is that the skin color affords a lack of a disadvantage.

In fact, those very same impoverished white people are often deceived into voting against their own interests. Well we can extend to other traits as well.

Hot charming dude > woman > ugly awkward dude.

Tall dude > woman > short dude.

Strong dude > woman > weak dude.

Men are more empowered to achieve things and assume authority than women, hence patriarchy and male privilege, but if they fail to do so they're tossed aside.

CE has a higher proportion of maladjusts than average so the poll reflects that perspective.

Women they have very clear societal privileges. If a couple gets divorced, the woman will be treated with extreme favor. A lot of children have been screwed out seeing their fathers this way and stuck living with an incapable mother.
