Or whatever oil you use.

Is one healthier than the other?

Bacon grease

The taste is probably phenomenal. But I don't wanna start my day with that. I got a pussy stomach. God put a pussy where my stomach was suppose to be on accident.

Depends on what I feel like doing at the time. One day it might be avocado oil or butter and another day it might be nothing.

Mine sticks if nothing, even with the new fuckin pan I got not that long ago. Also probably wouldn't work since I cook a layer of vegetables before adding the eggs.

In that case, butter tastes better, oil is easier to cook with, as in, your egg will cook more evenly and have a nicer consistency with less effort.

As far as healthiness, olive oil is probably healthier but they're both fattening af. If that's the main concern use a low cal/low fat cooking oil.

I use butter. Which is usually fine, but there's also a random dice drop for how my stomach reacts. But maybe I'll try to switch to the smallest amount of olive oil I can get away with and see if I like the tastes. The vegetables usually dominate most the flavor.

Butter compliments eggs so much better than oil or bacon grease. tbqh, you ruin the eggs if you use the latter two. Now, oil or bacon grease when you're cooking hash browns, is amazing

olive oil or reclaimed bacon grease, depending on what i'm doing with them. olive oil goes good with the flavor profile of spinach, garlic, sundried tomato and feta, so if i'm doing a scramble with those i'll use olive oil. if i'm doing a Denver scramble instead or just frying them, I usually use the bacon grease.

Interesting. We use completely different vegetables aside from garlic. When do you add spinach? Same time as the eggs? Since I use potatoes, green pepper and onions, it takes a good 10 minutes before I add the eggs. Gotta soften them.

i make a sauteed spinach mix separately and keep it in a tupperware container in the fridge, and use it for all sorts of things, including scrambled eggs. it's got a whole 1 lb. bag of spinach, a whole bulb of roasted garlic, some minced sundried tomato, and just a little bit of crushed red pepper, all sauteed in olive oil.

when i use it in my scrambled eggs, i put it in about three quarters of the way in between when i put in the meat and when i put in the eggs. i used to be all about using ham or bacon, but lately since i've been trying to eat healthier i've experimented with turkey lunchmeat and diced roasted turkey. whatever i'm using, once it starts to get fragrant and just begins to brown up, i'll put in the spinach and let it get up to temperature, and then put the eggs in.

Damn. I need to prep my vegetables ahead of time too. I've known this, but just haven't put it into action yet. I eat the same exact thing every morning too, so they definitely wouldn't go to waste.

Bacon grease
This.

I cut up a couple slices and throw them in a dry pan with a ton of black pepper. The bacon oil comes out and you throw the eggs in after. Super easy and tasty

Teflon or well-loved iron shouldn't stick.
Do not cook on teflon if you've got birds in the house though - it'll kill them if you overheat it.

There's only birds in my basement. They scratch on my vents. I am curious why that kills them tho. Just to know how that works with it being completely harmless to me. Cause I can live with my eggs stickin a little

It's not. It's not nearly as harmful to you as it is to birds, but the fumes from PTFE ("Teflon" is one brand name for PTFE) are harmful to anything.

However, it will generally only release said fumes if overheated or damaged. The problem being that those aren't all that hard to accidentally do.

i just spray the pan with cooking spray.

i'm a half decent cook, but i never figured out how to cook an egg well. I can't even crack the damn things without shards flying all over the pan.

True. It just feels weird. Like how do you know what's overheating for something you're suppose to use over heat. I imagine just walking away and forgetting to shut off the burner or something.
