I checked it out. As far as badass anime lightsaber duels, I got exactly what I was expecting. Some of that shit was fire.

Akakiri

Also liked The Twins because it goes completely over the top DBZ.

Just bumping this. Put a few people on to it and they really enjoyed it.

I think my favorite overall is The Duel. Love everything about it.

I hope they continue some of these. Some were obviously set up that way.

that's... not what i was expecting. was not impressed with the first ep, which seems to be considered one of the best. i'll probably power through it, just for completionists sake, but i don't think this one is really for me.

Curious on what you were expecting.

This is actually the first of the Star Wars cartoons I sat through. I've tried many times with both CW and Rebels. Just didn't work for me.

But I've always been a big anime fan and haven't watched much anime in years, so it kind of had a strong impression on me, despite so many cliche tropes.

i'm not sure i know, either. probably something like Genndy's take on Clone Wars. Anime inspired, but not anime anime, i guess? but, i'm only through the first episode, and i think they're all done in different styles, right? maybe some of the others will feel better.

I just watched all the episodes myself. I liked The Village Bride, The Ninth Jedi, and Lop & Ocho the most of all the episodes, and I'd love to see any of those three adapted into a full-length series at some point. The Twins was pure balls-to-the-wall Studio Trigger insanity and TO-B1 was a pretty interesting Astro Boy homage, but both of those kind of felt awkward and should definitely stay a short. The others I didn't mention were hit-or-miss.

Overall, I give the whole project an 8/10. Also, Kara from The Ninth Jedi is best girl.

I forgot about Genndy's CW. Though when this was first announced, it was exactly what I was hoping for.

Particularly a fight like the Ki-Adi-Mundi and the Jedi vs Grievous.

But yeah, every episode is in a different style and completely disconnected.

I didn't realize Studio Trigger is from the Gurren Lagaan dude and company.

I was thinking it was trying to be a DBZ parody. But it was definitely more GL and Kill La Kill.

But yeah, I would love to see The Ninth Jedi and The Village Bridge fleshed out. Lop & Ocho felt too Earthy tho.

Also F from The Village Bridge is obviously the best girl.
