my grandfathers residence got quarantined again due to a covid case. someone else got sick this time.
wasn't related to my grandfather's spread of covid if it did happen.

This eases the anxiety a little but now my wife is freaking out lmao even though I haven't even been in the office for over a week and the people who were all getting tests done were gone today.

I have been pushing for her to get vaccinated but it's not like I can just drag her to the pharmacy. And she didn't want to get it because she's pregnant and was nervous (back when there was "little data about the interaction between the vaccine and pregnancy"... her doctor like two months ago said it was 100% recommended and OK to get it and I've been encouraging her ever since).

My wife is 12 weeks pregnant. Conceived 4 months after her second shot and 6 months after mine.
The leading bodies in obstetrics, gynecology, pediatrics, and infectious disease all say to get the shot.

So, yes, pick up your wife and drag her to the pharmacy.

Anyone with real experience with doctors know how much of a guessing game it can be. If tv is your only perception of doctors, you would believe they're a lot more sure of what's going on at all times. You guys can pretend this is an anti-vaxx conversation, but it's an uncertainty conversation showing sympathy towards a pregnant woman trying to navigate the world. You guys are also using a study that says updated on "August 2021" when he clearly said "When there was less information on it".

Anyway, yeah, if there's updated information on this, she should look into it so she can feel comforted in making the right decision.

Let me know how that's working next year. I have the feeling it'll be the exact same arguments you're having.

You're responsible for a baby now, gotta do what you thinks best for it now. Wife can't be numero uno in every decision once you got a kid.

Im glad you guys found it an easy decision, but sticking to only your perception of the world doesn't lend itself to empathy. I do retract my catch all statement in my last post tho, just cause I have this disagreement doesn't mean you don't understand any kind of human behavior. That's a wild claim. But I do think you're not taking the time to try to understand someone who's not your family right now. Congratulations on making a family tho. That's a lot bigger deal than a lot give credit for. Taking on that responsibility and being man enough to stick to it is a real accomplishment. You sound sure enough of yourself that I can assume that'll be the case.

I guess Id be a hypocrite if I didn't acknowledge how others not getting vaccinated can feel like a personal attack on your family. Which is also why I feel like I was wildin in my last post. I just feel strongly about how we're pushing this whole message. People won't be pushed into vaccines, we need to come to that understanding a try something else.

I mean, there were other considerations here. There was an incident last year that contributed to the wife's hesitance to get the vaccine, it's not like she is just anti-vaccine or anything. And yes we know an infection is worth than a vaccine but we also take all precautions to avoid infection to begin with and I think that's what she was hedging her bets on. Things kind of change when you actually *know* someone who got infected - up until now it was all family-member-overseas-of-a-friend-of-a-coworker type stuff. Not that that... makes it better, but statistics don't tend to have the same impact as actual real-life experience.

We had a coworker test positive a few weeks ago. Work didn't do a thing about it. Didn't shut down or make anyone get tested. Luckily she seemed to have gotten it while she was on vacation and she only works part-time, so she never had a chance to spread it.

It's just CE being CE man. If you can't check the one box out of the 2 they can comprehend, you shall be burned. Life is so much more complicated to navigate. Nevermind when in a family position.
