Favourite: Balrog (Boxer) - I think it's the feeling of relief and adrenaline of finally making it to the final 4 bosses. The background and music rocks. And the tide of the fight can turn on its head very quickly when Balrog gets aggressive.

Despised: Difficult to choose. 10 year old me would have said Vega (claw), but now it's probably Guile. Despite the fantastic music, his turtle style without needing to charge really gets to me when I'm playing with non-projectile fighters.

Favourite: To play as, I always found Vega a lot of fun. I was also surprisingly good at Blanka and loved toe-tapping people with Chun Li. Basically I like characters with strong jumps.
Despised: Unsurprisingly then, the slow clunky Zangief was my least-liked character. M Bison was also infuriating to fight again.

The extended cast besides Cammy is a big fat "who?" to me. Not that I couldn't name them (except Fei Long, who's completely forgettable,) but I never played that version of the game and they just aren't that memorable.

And after rereading the OP, I realize that this is a matter of who you like to fight against, but I think these answers still hold true. Zangief was always the opponent I never understood how to fight because he'd do things against me that I could never manage while playing as him. Vega as favorite opponent is a little harder to buy because he jumps around like a lunatic, but he's still a fun character and I don't have a better answer.

That's less about me not liking Ken because he's too hard or anything, I just think he stands out as by far the least interesting character in a very interesting cast.

Vega is my boy in general but I don't think the gameplay was quite there in SF2. Ken is more fun here with the 3 hit flaming shoryuken.

Meanwhile Blanka is generally irritating with his turtle ball crap across the board but in SF2 Cammy's Cannon Drill felt really unfun to fight.

Cammy's been one of my main fighters since the days of X-Men vs. Street Fighter, and I was hugely sad she wasn't in MvC3. E. Honda, though... I just couldn't tell you anything about how he worked when I was a kid, and there are less awkward charge characters.

Stage:
Favorite: Balrog
Least favorite: Dhalsim
For an evil-side character, that casino is just something wonderful, and I'm pleased they brought it back for 5. Dhalsim's level, though, I remember hating because the elephant trumpeting drove me absolutely wild when we had an idle machine back in college during the attract mode.

Enemy:
Favorite: Blanka
Least favorite: M. Bison
Another childhood memory for the favorite. My older brother played a lot of Blanka, not a lot of video games, so he was easy to beat. A recent memory for least favorite, because holy shit do I hate Bison in 5.
