Anyone want to watch along? It's not a fun anime to watch with others like Baki the Grappler, but it's one of those shows which I think can be a shared experience.

The summary of the show is as follows:

A group of kids drift apart after one of their friends falls into a river and drowns. Years later, Jinta - one of those friends - has become a hikikkomori, rejecting not just the friends he once knew but life as a whole.

Menma, the girl who died, reappears as a ghost and asks him to grant her dying wish. Unsure of whether this apparition is a real ghost or a figment of a broken mind, Jinta plays along - setting off a plot that explores individual and collective grief.

I caught it back in high school, and it was the show that got me interested in slice of life shows. It's a tearjerker for sure.

That sounds like a good watch.
More than anything though, the summary has me kind of awkwardly going "hmmm" because it's similar to a few story ideas I had but not too similar and now I'm unsure if I should be watching for ideas/inspiration or if I should back off to stay original.

I love Anohana. The melodrama gets kinda silly sometimes but I love the art style and the character dynamics. Really great show. Id watch along TC but I dont really feel like Im in a good place mentally to watch it.
