so my pro trump, vax denying friend said he still got covid despite being vaccinated. I told him that if he's not lying then he might have a health condition because that's not normal for a vaccinated young person to get really sick with covid. He said he wasn't really sick, but this guy had a 104 degree fever for two days, and was basically sick for a week. Also, he's overweight, drinks a lot, and has sex with a lot of sketchy women lol. He thinks there's nothing wrong with him and it's just fear mongering.

Pretty much anything can do that, from a really bad hangover to an initial HIV infection.

The fact that he's not dead means the vaccine did its job.

People with the vaccine are still at risk for getting infected, just at a MUCH LOWER RATE than those who are unvaccinated. People with the vaccine are still at risk for being hospitalized in critical condition, just at a MUCH LOWER RATE than those who are unvaccinated.

so if you were among the rare people to develop critical conditions and you aren't elderly, would this concern you?

Yeah my friend isn't obese either, but he's definitely overweight for sure
