Went to the olive garden a couple times last week, but man their portions for lunch are tiny now lol. Totally not worth the $15+ after tax/tip.

So I got motivated to make a semi-decent pasta sauce for the first time in over a year, which I'm doing now.

It's not top tier at all, no wine for instance, just used prego as a base (no pasta/whole tomatos etc), it does have onions (fresh/chopped), ground beef and mild italian sausage in it (along with 4 sausage links to slow cook into yummy tenderness).

It's missing some spices but does have bay leaves at least, so it should come out fairly good.

I'd call it a mid tier effort lol, but should still be better than olive gardens. All the ingrediants together cost me only $6 at safeway (ended up with 78% off), so WAY cheaper than olive garden (considering it'll make enough sauce for like 5 meals).

In the process of making it though, I kinda want to make a REALLY good sauce again lol. Maybe next time i'll go all out depending on how well this comes out, and how well it stores (gonna try actually freezing some sauce for the first time ever).

So hard to cook just for yourself, all the effort for good meals just seems like a waste, but honestly it's the only way sometimes to get a really good meal.
