Yeah, that was fucked up.

I remember watching TGIF when I was in elementary school and the whole thing where Ricky Ricardo was singing Babaloo to Urkle, and then Urkle forces himself onto Ricky. It was uncomfortable. It was even weirder that they tried to play it off with Urkle saying "DID I DO THAT?" to the camera afterwards.

That entire "my dad beats me" thing in full house. If I remember, he had bruises or something the oldest sister saw and she basically gave him advice that got him beat worse, and the episode ended with the dad magically getting caught.

The only thing that comes to mind is the episode of Family Ties where the youngest daughter wants to do a book report on Huckleberry Finn and her teacher ends up ripping the book out of her hands and storming off.

And the end of the episode the kid looks up towards the ceiling and goes "I'm gonna take this to the board of education" and the audience claps in solidarity. That last part always seemed really self-important, lol

There was this really weird episode of Growing Pains where the oldest son ended up getting into some kind of pornography photoshooting job. I only ever saw it once.

There were also all those weirdly real child abuse episodes with Shawn in Boy Meets World.

Edith Bunker being threatened by a rapist is proper left-field.

The post-Ritter episodes of 8 Simple Rules probably get a bit of a pass, because they were obviously driven by circumstance, but there was a bit when Bridget was going out in a short skirt and stopped at the door saying "Dad would never have let me get this far" that really hit hard for me.

Maybe the episode of Drake & Josh where there's a super storm and their dad is stuck outside reporting on it? That was played for laughs though.

IIRC the character was portrayed as a drag queen, but I think that's due to when the show was made because it seems pretty clear in retrospect that Beverly was transgender. It was a gut-wrenching episode

Tame in comparison to some of the examples presented here, but the way the Tanners treat Kimmy never sat right with me. She's mostly just this sweet, naive teenage girl who is a solid friend to DJ and close to an older sister to Stef and Michelle, but they treat her like she's a leper with the plague. In the episode where they forget her birthday and half-ass a shitty party at the last minute, it's clear that none of the family even cares. Kimmy usually masks the pain with a bubbly attitude, but in that case it was so plain how hurt she was. She isn't particularly annoying and isn't constantly blowing up the Tanner's lives with destruction and predicaments, unlike Urkel, who is treated similarly but with damn good reason.

I haven't watched Fuller House so I don't know they treat her in that.

Most of the show Titus has darker moments but the finale in particular went places. I would love to have him make more episodes using all his stand-up specials, there's A LOT of stuff to work with, dude had a rough life.
