Agreed. While I hate personalized results and tracking there's something to be said about the fact that Google can show me tips for the game I've been playing for a week as opposed to TripAdvisor results for cities and stuff that I don't need

So use startpage then? It has all the Google results without the spying on you and collecting your data

DDG is decent enough, unless you need to get weirdly specific. Then you just get random shit because DDG refuses to admit it's stumped.

Protip: add !g to your Duckduckgo search to forward it to Google.

I use DDG for most of my searches but for some stuff it's simply lacking, like if you want to look up something local.

You can get a maximum number of MS Reward Points by doing searches each day. There are points for doing searches in any browser, points for doing searches in Edge specifically, and points for searching on Mobile. It is really easy to get points - you can look up "Queen Discography" or "Robin Williams movies" and it'll show you a ribbon of albums or movies and each one you click loads a new page which equals a unique search result.

There are also special daily tasks like "look at the newest Xbox release!" or guessing games where you can earn up to 50 points by choosing which state is the biggest or which river is the longest, stuff like that.

Anyway, you can redeem those points for various things. Like Xbox Giveaway raffles (more of a gamble) or gift cards (set deal). Something like 10k or 12k points equals a $10 Amazon gift card >_>
