My comp (laptop) has been crashing randomly for awhile. I brought it in (i'm good at problem solving myself but it looks like it might be a hardware problem) paid $150 but they couldn't find anything wrong with it.
Just get kernal errors and it crashes. Tried a bunch of fixes (though didn't wipe/reinstall windows). So I found a deal on this computer for $1299 (which is significantly less then most places) at best but. It's $1400 after tax. I have read reviews etc and it looks like a good gaming comp that will last me awhile. What do you all think? This a good idea? I was gonna get a desktop but they are crazy expensive right now, so this seems to actually be cheaper then most desktops with the same GPU power etc. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/gigabyte-15-6-4k-oled-creator-laptop-intel-core-i7-11800h-16gb-nvidia-geforce-rtx-3060-1tb-ssd/6463823.p?skuId=6463823 --- Tacobot 3000 "Saving the world from not having tacos." I would wipe and reinstall your software before anything that expensive. To me it seems kind of overpriced?
If you have the skills to build a desktop yourself, you could do so for less than half of that price and it would be infinitely upgrade-able. My daughter did that last year. --- A proud companion to some great dogs Peanutt, Merlynn, and Destiny ... Copied to Clipboard!

Yeah, I'm really on the fence, I have 30 days to return it after getting it, so I figure I can try it out and if I really like it keep it. I used to build my own desktops before getting this laptop, but I really do like the ability to just bring it with me whenever I go out.
That one has like a 6 hour battery life as well (my current has like half that), so I could pretty much spend the whole day out without needing to charge it. It's normally 1499, but the sale was $1299 (even if they SAID it was 600 off and normally 1899 (it's not that expensive anywhere). Still it's $200 less then anywhere else that I could find, and I was checking into GPU's etc and it looks like it would be $800+ to build a decent laptop with a good GPU right now because of a shortage of chips. Still more, but i'd have mobility, and I double checked for HDI etc so I can hook it up to my 4k TV etc and use it just like a desktop. --- Tacobot 3000 "Saving the world from not having tacos." You could get a much better desktop for the same price. By building it myself, or is there a sale somewhere? I didn't see one on bestbuy at least, the prices were about the same tbh, without the portability (or touch screen ability etc). --- Tacobot 3000 "Saving the world from not having tacos."
