Do you trust young middle school teens to cook your food?

Businesses across the US are still struggling to fill jobs and now McDonalds and Burger King are hiring 14 and 15 year olds to cope with the dire labour shortage as huge banners are popping up outside asking for them!!

One outside in Oregon shows a banner stating they are paying $15 and are asking young teens to apply and are asking parents of these kids to get them to apply!!

Burger King in Ohio is asking parents if they have young teens looking for a job and will hire them with great benefits

US Law set a minimum working age at 14 with limits on hours for those under 16 and prohibitions on hazardous jobs for anyone under 18 as some states have even higher minimum work age limits

14 y/o's are allowed to work in office and clerical work, cooking with an electric or gas grill, cashiering, price marking and bagging

There is a record 10.1 million job openings but no one to fill them after laying them off because of the pandemic where now those people have moved on. Now they are looking to middle school teens to fill those openings with no experience as one Mcdonalds operator in Oregon said "They have the drive and work ethic. They get the technology. They catch on really quickly"

In Texas, Layne's chicken fingers is paying teen manager 50,000 salaries to retain them amid turnover. Garrett Reed, the CEO of the restaurant said he had to train 16-17 year olds to run his chain because he was so short on staff.

Many businesses blame Biden's generous federal unemployment benefits for the people not turning into work as it expires on Monday but there is other factors including those worried about contracting COVID-19 or having to deal with unruly customers who refuse to wear masks as well as many others who changed careers during this time off

America just added 235,000 jobs in August, far short of the big gains in the summertime as economics predicted 700,000

The only bright spot was the unemployment dropped to 5.2% from 5.4

Keep in mind when the fast-food restaurants began gaining steam in the 1950s, they mostly hired college students and high school kids but then when the 1980s rolled and America was losing jobs fast due to outsourcing, etc, suddenly adults began applying for those jobs and that trend continues even to this day but when that pandemic hit, those people realized that they didn't want to flip burgers anymore and began looking for other jobs or simply just not returning to work at all and that's part of the reason why Mcd's Burger King, etc all scrambling looking for workers.

In my hometown, these places are actually paying people by the day and offering them immediate benefits to lure them in.

Second picture of the guy is a bit more hazy but still looks like he could be in his early 20s.

Also its too late to "trust" teens to cook your food, almost every local Chik-fil-a near me seems to be run exclusively by a horde of teenage girls.

I didnt know it was legal for minors under 16 to work, so that part is news to me though.
