They enable/pander to the worst personality type in online pvp games and everyone else has zero fun dealing with them.
In any game that includes them, turret-based characters attract only the laziest, cheesiest players while being completely resented by everyone else. Before any of you start being CE at me, I didn't say a single thing about the difficulty of dealing with them, just that they're not fun. ... Copied to Clipboard!

The engineer is very respected in TF2 because he can also build teleporters and dispensers. People talk about how required a Medic is in pubs, but in a deadlock Attack vs Defense the difference often comes down to a BLU Engi building a teleporter.
