Always hear Pat on super best friends hype the series up and when they started to come to gamepass I latched onto them. They're really fun and can be very hilarious and heart warming. If you have the chance I'd really recommend them

Yeah I also loved to watch Matt and Pat play Yakuza years ago, they're really unique and it's great they've been getting more popular since coming to Game pass/Xbox.

So did I. I started playing 0 on Jan 19th with the intent to do 0 and then move on for a while. Next thing I know, it's the beginning of July and I'm finishing Like A Dragon.

I'm now working on Judgment.

I haven't been this obsessed with a video game in about a decade. Hell, this year I have played video games more than I have in the last 5 years combined.

Like a Dragon might be one of my favorite games of all time now. It was so good
Spoilers for like a dragon
That speech Ichiban gave at the end about them both being family was so fucking moving and heartbreaking it was the best voice acting I've ever heard

Glad to have more Yakuzie fans. I started with 4 and Dead Souls about 6 years ago or so and have been consuming each one. I actually do need to get back to LaD at some point. I left off in chapter 5 I think. Its taking so long to unlock class changes I just kinda stopped even tho I really enjoy the story so far.

Lost Judgement 2 is preordered and can't wait for that later this month.

Even after 6 years or so, I'm still trash at mahjong. And I really need them to bring bowling back to the games.

Yeah that's what has been keeping me from getting back into Like a Dragon, I hate when games drip feed content to you, even though I'm past the point where I can class change.

Although honestly alot of the classes are bad, I find that almost everyone default or advanced version of it is better than the alternatives as cool as they are. Not that you need to optimally play though on normal.

The best part of the class system is moves you unlock carrying over to others

Been watching this series from a distance over the years, but releasing the most recent title as a full RPG brought me into the fold.

Only certain ones if I remember, if it let more moves carry over it would be nice but I feel no urge to switch classes for those moves, maybe if they let you switch out in the field rather than at the job centre I would do it more, fights are also so slow I don't want to grind.

I played Yakuza 0 for a bit but it got lost in my massive backlog

While it's not officially in the series I also tried Judgement since it was free on PS Now and while I enjoyed the characters, combat and story stuff it was otherwise really boring

The open world is dull and the side missions feel like a never ending checklist to complete as opposed to just having fun with it

"Hey go eat at this restaurant or get a drink at the bar! Was that fun? Now do it hundreds of times!"

Yakuza is probably my favorite current series besides Metroid, but I have to admit I am having a hard time getting the motivation to finish the "best one" (Yakuza 5).

I don't know if it was playing 3-5 back to back when the Remastered Collection released on PC, or just the fact that the game has too much to do, or the fact some of the colosseum challenges are FUCKING annoying, but I had to stop playing it and move on to something else. I might come back to it later, and then play 6 once I am finished with it.

I even platinum'd Like a Dragon, and that just about requires you to max out every class for every character just to get through the insanely difficult final dungeon.

Who the heck says 5 is the best one? I started feeling series fatigue when I hit 4 and took a decent break between 4 and 5. Currently on 6 and really enjoying it so far

I have heard a lot of people say that. Me personally, I think 0 is the best, followed closely by Like a Dragon.

I am looking forward to 6, I think the more stripped down game will be a nice reward for getting through 5.

I can agree with that ranking 0 and LaD jump back and forth for me. I'm really enjoying 6 so far the story feels a bit like 3 which i really enjoyed and being back to the new game engine feels good

I think everyone agrees 0 is the best but maybe 5 was the best before then? I love how much there is to do in 5 and all the different mini-games they added. Taxi driving, racing, hunting, snowball fights, ramen chef, etc. There's so much side content.

I've been grinding in and off for the true final dungeon. Is the vagabonds in the sewer still the best grind @dikitain

Yep, I had a pretty good path going through the sewers in Kamurocho. You get to the second floor, hit all three vagabonds, and you usually gain a few levels for your classes. Assuming you are leveled good only takes about 10-15 minutes for a run, so you can max out classes on your characters in about 4-5 hours. Then go back, change classes, and repeat until you are good.

Ideally you want most if not all of the classes maxed for each character, but I think it is very possible to do it with only 4 or 5.
