I left a while ago and still don't think too much about what it costs. It doesn't really matter because I'll never pay it off.

I've been enjoying the hell out of going to university finally, going to have more fun once I start involving myself in some more stuff. Just kinda wish I did it earlier but eh, can't regret everything.

Also, I'm going to apply to as many scholarship opportunities as I can. I should be able to recuperate at least a good chunk of my debt that way.

I've had to do college off and on. Because I was also working full time and my family was poor as fuck. But I get by on scholarships and these clubs/programs I'm a part of. For the most part, I'm good as long as I keep doing well in classes and participate in activities which isn't a problem for me.

Technically I've been finished with the four year University stuff but I recently transferred to a really expensive (and pretty cool) art school because I like pain it seems.

I'm really lucky my parents helped a lot. I still went to a state school and worked for most of it to leave with about 10k debt.

I went to CC and had a blast. Was able to pay for it before the end of each semester with just one scholarship that most students were eligible for.

its funny that its easier to get out of millions of dollars of business debt through bankruptcy but with student loans? no, they'll follow you to hell.

almost like the system was designed to fuck you over if you're poor...

Its part of it. If they think Im going to be starving myself after graduation to give them anymore money they have another thing coming. I already have a dog shot credit score, which is why I went back to college.

Not really because lenders can't take back and recoup losses from the knowledge you gained vs a car or a house.

That and whats stopping every young adult ever from just filing for bankruptcy as soon as they graduate?

they cant take back spent money either. and the super rich have access to chapter 11 bankruptcy, so they get to mostly just "discharge" most of their debts while keeping the majority of their assets. everyone else though? unless you're eating dogfood and living out of a tent you're shit out of luck.

Yes but that's not really the point. It's perfectly reasonable why lenders wouldn't risk giving broke jobless 20 somethings with $0 in assets tens of thousands of dollars if bankruptcy was on the table.

So while the current system isn't perfect it at least gives numerous low income earners a chance to advance.

I will say, I do feel those moments of self-doubt and "What am I doing? This won't amount to anything." at times. I hate it when that happens but I ty to power through it. I've gotten this far. Why stop now?

I think what blew my mind was how many people regularly skipped classes relative to the cost.

My parents participated in Florida's pre-paid college program, which lets you lock in the tuition cost of whatever year you start paying and by the time your kid gets to college their tuition is already taken care of. Plus I applied for grants and scholarships so I actually banked cash money for going to college and came away with no debt

I have an entire saving's account dedicated to the refunds I've gotten over the years. As tempting as it is, I'm not touching that. It's for just I'm case.
