This is a battle that we're just not gonna win against the idiot hive mind.

These people are absolutely convinced that they are right,
"do your own research" aka look at facebook memes while sitting on the toilet
"CDC lying to you once again!" as if you ever believed what the CDC ever said
"there is no good data" breh, your data is facebook memes, I doubt you've read a single primary source

The media certainly takes some blame in all this. You can google anything vaccine related and a significant amount of links have click-bait titles and somewhat mislead you.

The thing that people simply do not understand is that in medicine, its extremely common to have studies that conclude opposite things. So you can cherry pick and use "data" to defend whatever opinion you want. So to draw accurate conclusions, you take into account the quality of the evidence - and that takes into account many things, only some of which include number of patients and study design. You absolutely cannot draw conclusions without taking into account the quality of data as well as its biological plausibility and how it fits into what we already know. So yes you can find small studies that support ivermectin or make anti-vax conclusions - making any decisions based on that is just bad medicine. And tbh I think only doctors truly understand this - how to put it into clinical practice.

This is my point, the fact that you completely missed the point. The part that I meant only doctors understand is interpreting the data, putting it into context, AND how to make clinical decisions based on that. So yea sure anyone that understands research and stats can read and interpret the ivermectin or hydroxychloroquine studies, but you need to be a doctor to be able to put it into context and say this is something that should or shouldn't be done in clinical practice, which is really what matters most at the end of the day.

I asked this older patient why she wants, and she said that every time she gets a vaccine for a specific sickness, she gets sick from it, like she got 2 pneumonia shots and got pneumonia both times after it, so she doesnt wanna get the covid vaccine
