Full confession. I bought it 3 times.

PS3 version
Then the PC version because PS3 sucks
Then the Enhanced edition

And that's not including gifts for others

So I can't throw stones. If I owned a Switch I'd be dying for an actual game to play on it too

He's put thousands of hours into vanilla Skyrim and is super excited for the next re-release because of the fishing.

The game is almost unplayable without mods imo, but this mother fucker has countless 100% save files.

I will genuinely never understand the mindset of someone who plays Skyrim on PC to an extensive degree (so more than their first time or whatever) and refuses to mod in any capacity. Not even bug fixes. And then, like your friend, get excited about getting content ten years after they could have downloaded something better themselves.

I introduced him to Ultimate Skyrim a while ago and he stopped playing because "it doesn't feel like Skyrim". I was floored, it makes Skyrim into an actual RPG and this bitch hated it.

Nah. If you're a console-only player, the Xbox One version and PS4 version have mod support, but the PS4 mods are seriously gimped. There's creation club content, but in terms of some kind of significant new content like Dawnguard or Dragonborn, there's nothing.

To be fair, Requiem (which Ultimate uses) does make it not really Skyrim anymore, so I can sort of see why people might not actually like the delevelled word etc. Personally I love it, and maybe once I get a good enough computer will use Ultimate as well.

Yeah I have Xbox One so that's what I would theoretically get it on. I imagine the graphics are quite a bit better. Not sure I wanna pay full price if not much has changed though.

Then again, it's been so long it would almost be a new game for me.

For as many people who say Skyrim "isn't a real RPG" there are many more who simply enjoy playing the game. Ten years on the game still draws large numbers of people.

It's just a shame that when ES6 releases in 2028 that'll it'll be filled with cash shop cosmetics, an emphasis on a 'building mode' and yet still no fix for the goofy physics engine that causes items to fall through tables or explode like a tornado went through the room.

I bought the PS4 version of but that's mostly because the inner circle of my 360 disc was crumbling and I knew that copy wouldn't last long.

I'm more at fault for rebuying Rockstar games. :( A part of it is still me worrying about my older versions eventually becoming unplayable though.

personally i play it for the mods. things like the tornado bit you mentioned are fixed if you're willing to download a few of them. plus there are very few games that have such an expansive modding scene as skyrim. and hopefully with the recent changes nexus made we'll see it grow even more, now that they're better able to implement mod packs

The anniversary edition is just the current game bundled with creation club stuff. However the special edition is getting a free next gen upgrade at the same time. It's a mess of terminology.

The selling point of the Anniversary Edition is that it has all current and as-of-yet unreleased Creations bundled with it; the free Special Edition upgrade supposedly contains Fishing along with what are generally considered to be the two best Creations (Survival Mode and Saints and Seducers).

Does it though? I thought it was only 2-3 CC items. Survival Mode, Saints and Seducers(which includes Rare Curios) and something else. When they mention 500 pieces of content they're probably listing every piece of armor, every alchemy ingredient, every weapon, every enemy, etc. It's like when they said there would be 16x times the detail in Fallout 76 but parse the language and it was referring to 'distant objects', i.e. stuff near the horizon.

That's what's supposedly in the free next-gen update for people who already own the Special Edition. The 'something else' is Fishing.

I can practically guarantee that's what they're doing: counting everything from 'Stendarr's Hammer' to 'Redwort Flower' to 'So-and-So's Journal' among the '500 pieces of CC Content.' Somewhere in their official marketing they stated that the Anniversary Ed. will contain 48 existing Creations (haven't counted them all up, but that sounds about right) plus 26 unreleased Creations (which would roughly be the amount they would have released if they'd stayed on schedule going into the first quarter of 2020, which is when the CC went on indefinite hiatus).

The problem is that they're going out of their way to sound self-important with the whole '500 Pieces of Creation Club' thing, when in reality they're just being needlessly confusing, especially when a third release of this game in 10 years going to be a tough sell to a lot of people.

I have to pick and choose like 6 of my best (script heavy) mods because of memory limits otherwise crashes are constant after a while. if they fix this in the new one then hell yeah ill drop more money on this shit >_>
