ssjevot 08/31/21 8:25:16 AM #7:	Japan, decreasing population and an inability to actually get enough immigrants to come. The government actually keeps increasing the amount of immigrant visas, but the terms are such not enough people actually apply to fill them. Every year the population decreases. People will say the problem is the birthrate, but it's actually about average for developed countries, and high for East Asia (Korea, China, Singapore, Taiwan, etc. all have lower birthrates). Nothing is going to meaningfully increase the birthrate, it's not worth addressing. There is a net inflow of immigrants but it's not nearly enough. There are more jobs than there are job-seekers. Getting the government to realize simply offering visas doesn't guarantee applicants is going to be tough.
