It's that sony biker zombie game. It was free on PS+ earlier this year, but I just now got around to trying it.

I played through it for a while a few nights ago. The latest mission I started, played it for about 30 minutes, and needed to stop for the night, so I saved the game and quit. There was no message or anything telling me that I would lose my progress, and honestly, I thought I had reached a checkpoint already considering I had just finished a few cutscenes.

I start to play it again today, and it turns out I have to start the whole mission over? Looking online, I learned that you can't save and resume in the middle of a mission. But the game doesn't tell you this anywhere? And the mission was not over after 30 minutes of me playing it, so like, I just have to make sure I have hours at a time to play this game?

Feels like PS2-era design or something. Anyone else think this is totally dumb?

Are you turning off your entire console? Why don't you just use rest mode unless you're switching games or something?

I put the console into rest mode when I'm not using it, but I also quit the game because my spouse sometimes uses the console when I'm not using it, and even if she had not, I played another game between. I often have 2-3 games that I play through at the same time.

It does seem a bit odd for a non-rpg to not have more sporadic checkpoints mid-mission

but 30 minutes of lost playtime isn't that bad tbh #oldschoolgamer

Days Gone is surprisingly solid but I didn't realize that was a thing. Fortunately didn't run into that when I played it.

I played it again last night for a couple hours. Turns out that I had quit literally a minute before finishing the mission, which was unfortunate. Now that I understand the way the game works with missions, etc., I do not think I will make the same mistake again. Got through a decent bit now, and starting to get a feel for the game.

I think you're supposed to save at camps. I played a lot of the game, but didn't finish. (Zombie hordes are pretty awesome, though, even though they kill you dead.)

As a PS5 owner, I can't use rest mode, so sucks for me.

As a fellow PS5 owner, I've never had an issue with rest mode. What's the issue?

It breaks if I try to use it. I've had all kinds of problems with mine. I also can't sit on the home screen without a game open for any amount of time or it soft reboots over and over again. It's been a frustrating experience.

super weird. haven't had an issue over here, though I've only had my ps5 for a few months. one would think this would be covered by a warranty or something.

I've got a launch day disc version so that may have something to do with it.

Also have a launch disc version, mine only has problems with rest mode if I have my external hard drive with my PS4 games connected. Otherwise it's fine.

Not the first time I've seen reports of rest mode being wonky in general though.

Man that makes me feel lucky. I've got a launch day disc version too and I haven't had any problems (yet)
