No they legit hate each other. ISIS goes too far according to the Taliban and the Taliban isn't going far enough according to ISIS.

Yeah something most Americans don't really get is that most Islamist terrorist groups literally see each other as heretics instead of just a different type of Muslim.

If it's ISIS vs. the Taliban killing each other, that's objectively a good thing. The less they're humanized the better.

That got me a chuckle. Imagine being so extreme that even extremists think you go too far.

That's bad news for any Americans or Afghani collaborators as they will be pulled at both ends. Either ISIS wants to publicly decapitate you, or the Taliban wants to ransom you or execute you for treason.

Imagine telling someone ~20 years ago (without even giving them a timeline) that the Taliban would essentially immediately overrun Afghanistan again before the US even finished pulling out but that there'd also be an even worse group than the Taliban going after both them and the US forces.

the taliban has no interest in global jihad. even after 20 years of the war in Afghanistan, people conflate local warlords like the taliban with global terrorist networks like isis and al-qaeda

the taliban is more like a group like boko haram in west africa. they're interested in local domination

Yeah and Boki Haram is a group that needs to be wiped out as well, they go around destroying villages, kill all the males (babies too), and take the women as war brides and rape slaves.

not arguing against that. boko haram is terrible and so is the taliban. just making it clear for people that don't know the difference between groups. there's still people who think the taliban had something to do with 9/11

Most should know 9/11 was openly stated to be an Al-Qaeda, the group and almost all intel said it was them who did so. Taliban may have agreed and supported the act but they did not do it.
