I'm the most gung ho pro-mask, pro-vax person you'll find but getting a 2 year old to wear a mask is essentially impossible. I'm in a tough situation where I now have to drive my 2 year old across the country because theres no way he will wear a mask. So instead of a 4 hour flight, it'll be a 4 day trip, cuz a toddler can sit in a car seat for only so long until they go wild. We'll have to make frequent stops so he can run around outside and burn some energy.

they've been wearing those since they were born. they haven't been wearing masks since they were born. we certainly plan to practice but its not easy

maybe it's best to go by car to destination if have a 2 year old. they're not going to be willing to conform to the rules.

Get a CT mask with pictures on it something they like, they will wear it

I thought 2 and under didnt have to wear a mask.

But anyways we just traveled with our 3 year old and she hardly had hers on in the airport and on the plane and there was no issue. Just make sure the child has one on a lanyard thing around their neck and youre fine.

Maybe get a costume mask or something, try to make a game of it.

Your child is totally just under 2 years old, and therefore exempt from wearing a mask.

Just spend most of the flight in the bathroom and only worry about the mask when you have to be seated.

He's tall for his age, so even when we flew at 20 months they were coming at us like, "he needs to wear a mask" and I'd be like, "he's not 2". Like they were annoyingly aggressive about it. I'm talking about Southwest.

Idk dude, masks have been as essential as shoes and shirts over the past two years, if it's abnormal to the child it's probably because you've actively hidden them from it.

The kid is under 2 years old..and has been in lockdown for almost all their life. Of course he has been actively hiding his child from a global pandemic virus.

As a father of a 20 month old, I understand the struggle. While we haven't hidden masks from her, she doesn't quite understand them and will immediately take it off. This is something that all parents with kids that age will be struggling with.

Kids under 2 don't need to wear a mask. I believe the rules also state that they only need to wear a mask if they can understand when to remove it and put it on. I don't think that'll happen until a kid is close to 3.
