Right-wingers need to stop falling back on the incorrect assumption that there are just endless jobs available to anyone who wants one. Conservatives never seem to recognize the fact that companies actually turn away the vast majority of applicants they get. Workers are not 100% responsible for getting a job. At least 50% of the responsibility lies with the company who has to actually GIVE people jobs!

Conservatives need to stop alot of things, but they wont, because in order to be a conservative, you need to be an absolute moronic asshole.

It's always remarkable having a conversation with a conservative because it doesn't take long to tell that most of their ideology is based around notions that aren't even true. They mentally don't live in the same reality, just some fantasy where their feelings are manifested into worldviews.

Canada has an election coming up. A complaint I hear from a lot of conservatives is that Trudeau is giving all our taxpayer money away through CERB to people that won't get a job.

CERB ended nearly a fucking year ago.

The Conservative Party of Canada voted to recognize climate change as being fake news. The antivax movement is currently almost exclusively conservative. They think Trudeau said "budgets balance themselves", when in reality his full quote was basically the hallmark of classical conservative economy policy that growing the economy is the key to reducing deficits.

This would be pretty low on the list of things I wish Conservatives would realize.

there are plenty of companies hiring. just because applications might not get looked at everywhere, doesn't mean people shouldn't apply

Well it depends.

If you're talking about some poor fellow who keeps applying to every position they think they could work yet keeps getting rejected either because the ad was basically this...

'Wanted: Waiter

Must be no older than 20 with 25 years of experience.
Must possess six bachelor degrees
Must be willing to work 18 hours a day + overtime.
Will be paid $2/hr + exposure'

Then yea, they're in the wrong.

Conversely if we're talking some snobby college grad who refuses to accept a perfectly fine job at a local place because it's 'beneath them'... Then they're in the right.

That being said; I do feel like there is a massive problem with employers that needs fixing. I mean, stacked reviews are a thing and not even something that happened in the 1850's by some corrupt railway tychoon but modern day stuff.

If you feel that companies have to give people jobs like you claim, that kind of attitude is definitely a red flag. If you are even remotely interested in finding work, it is definitely out there right now.
