Both. They've had 6 fucking years to make the game. But also, it's probably taking so long because they were overly ambitious in making a huge game that will never be ready in time

343i is by far the most incompetent developer I've ever seen.

Every single one of their games has had quite a few glaring issues.

4 was a decent first try but the new artstyle was so horrible and a lot of stuff didn't mesh well in the MP.

MCC was a broken mess even after months worth of patches.
They eventually started fixing it after 5's failure.

5 was so bad in a variety of ways.
No splitscreen, the story was shit and the characters were annoying, they ruined the Master Chief and you barely got to play him.

Halo Wars 2 is probably the only game they had an hand in that I actually liked.
Yeah the MP was lootbox'd to hell and they didn't include the last DLC in the season pass but it was still the most fun I've had in a Halo game since Reach.

And Infinite seems to be a shitshow as well.
Last year's E3 it got so much bad reception from fans that they had to delay the game.

What if they actually released the game when they were originally going to?
They would've been torn to pieces by reviewers and fans alike.

It still baffles me how MS is still letting these people run this franchise.

I still think it's gonna be better than halo 5. From what I've seen, it's been almost universally positively received by people that played the beta. And it looks like they've finally really tried taking inspiration from the first 3 games for the campaign

Does that even matter in Halo? It's been a while since I've played MP on there but I always thought team slayer is mostly pretty individual, just with a combined score. I mean, still a bad look though

halo is such a team based game, its not like CoD or battlefield. You will get absolutely shit on and spawn killed against a somewhat competent team when youre down a member.

Hmm, the last one I really played a lot was 4 and that was back when Halo was still somewhat big (but fading). I haven't tried out MCC MP cause I hear it's basically just (not literal) pros playing it now, so I could see having a deficit being a bigger deal if that's true

When I was actually really good at halo in my younger days, in ranked matchmaking, it was pretty much an auto loss if a teammate quit unless it was late in the match and you were up by a few kills

I thought Halo MCC was well done, eventually.
Infinite is being co-developed by a lot of other MS studios, it is a really big project and the big boys at Xbox Game Studios are really in charge of decisions like this not 343.

Yep, the game is extremely sweaty now. Youll constantly get matched up against parties of 4 all using mics. Ive been playing Halo 3 for almost 15 years and I get my ass beat constantly.

going into any competitive team based game as a stack, you're going to have a drastically better experience than going solo

it's not even tryharding. I suck ass at those games, but when im with a team, I'm suddenly actually decent, because you're able to just play off of each other. even just being lazy, not even doing call outs and team shooting. it's just a way better experience playing as a team
