When I started up last time I told myself I'm sticking to my character - a dual wielding orc berserker. And I did it! Didn't stealth a damn thing. Ran headlong into every fucking encounter and I had made an absolute tank of a character so I laid waste to everything in my path (default difficulty lol) it was a blast. Have yet to finish a fallout game since the first one. Never played the second.
