Unlike driver's licenses and voter ID, there are no documented racial, economic or geographic barriers to vaccination. People (Uber, Lyft, public transportation) will take one to get vaccinated and it is free. In other places, people will come to your home to vaccinate you.

When voter ID registration and requirements are the same, you may have a point.

That's all well and good until the ICUs are completely overrun and breakthrough variants start emerging. If you're proposing mandatory vaccines to participate in things like in person work, schools, and public events, I agree. But here in TX that is currently illegal for public schools, so a communal burden is on the vaccinated whether they want it or not.

It is not solely for their sake. It is the sake of the general good. TX hospital ICU beds and emergency vehicles are overrun with COVID patients, and by taking simple precautions the vaccinated (which can easily be asymptomatic carriers of the virus, and vectors to spread to the unvaccinated) we can do what we can to mitigate the issue.

This logic only works if a) medical care was divided between vaccinated and unvaccinated, so the quality of emergency care for vaccinated individuals would not be affected by COVID hospitalizations and b) there is negligible chance of breakthrough mutations among vaccinated individuals.

If your solution is to say "well just let emergency medical care get fucked, and we'll see who lives to see the other side of this" I simply disagree. If you can think of an alternate way to make this problems go away, let me know what you think of.
