the graphics only looked slightly better than a wii game (still a step up from the 5fps in the first trailer), the animations are still lifeless, and worse yet there doesn't seem to be much point in the game outside of catching pokemon..

..Like, where are the trainers?

BDSP still looks like shit. I don't understand why it looks like a mobile game. I really can't imagine playing this shit in docked mode on my TV. Pokemon LGPE looked fine, why can't they just go for that style again?

The Legends game has abysmal FPS and I'm getting a soulless No Man's Sky vibe from its trailer. The concept intrigues me but the execution of it by Gamefreak looks really shallow.

BD/SP's trailer was poorly made (felt like a multimedia project for a 9th grader, wtf was with the zooming in on key words every 5 seconds). The game itself looks like they're playing it very safe, trying to preserve the original as much as possible. Graphically it looks like ass but it doesn't seem to be straying from a safe formula.

Gamefreak is terrible at modern game development, I wish they'd pass this IP onto a more competent team. The semi 3D style really doesn't lend itself well here. I'd like them to make one look like Octopath Traveller, which is an artstyle I had been requesting for Pokemon and 2D Mario for years prior to Octopath Traveller even existing.

I know the game are old and the ds screen was tiny, but it was just literally tiny 3d chibi models.

there has never been a Pokemon remake that has drastically changed the art style from the original.

they look fantastic and that trailer was dope as hell

pokemon remakes always felt like a fully updated version of the world, like they're always fully bringing the region into the current generation as much as possible. this time it seems for the first time they are kind of not really doing that.

and seems for the first time Gamefreak are not really developing the remakes in-house. so it's definitely end of an era.

Anyone see any new Mons? Didnt see a single one

I can understand that for the remakes .. but Arceus? Basing the story in the past while acknowledging gen 7 pokemon seems kinda iffy

soulsilver and heart gold, sure, because the originals were on the original gameboy

so those four games are going to look like a massive improvement because of that, but really they stayed fairly true to their original counterparts

omega ruby and alpha sapphire, you could have a case for that, sure, but...not quite. it still looks enough like the originals that it feels the same.

lets go pikachu and eevee are their own thing entirely and don't really count

Psychic Braviary, Rock Growlithe, couldn't figure out what the Stantler evo was maybe ice? Basculin evo might have gotten dragon, but it's probably just pure water still.

my case is just that it's up to speed with XY, with the camera and models and movement and such. I think that's pretty solid assessment of ORAS.

whereas the top down view in BDSP combined with the cut and paste trees and grass just do not even come close to what SwSh was able to pull off in its towns and routes. also going back to random encounters makes me sad. at least outside of battles, it's the same game just with 360 degree movement. the sinnoh world needs to evolve more than that in 15 years.
