Video games.
You can play multiplayer, that's better than real friends. IRL friends always find ways to fuck with you. If someone online tries to frag you, you can always block them without even a text.

I have tried so hard at work to make good social connections and shit but everyone moves on and it's like they forget who you are. It is crazy. My dad had friendships that were like 50 years old.

Online friendships where you can block someone on a whim doesn't seem healthy lol

Kinda depended on the group.. small ones (less than seven people) I'd try to ask a question or throw out a statement to each person (if we were sitting close by or moving around like at a restaurant). Larger than that I would just pick two or three people around me and "force" myself into conversation by listening. It got easier after a meeting or two as you knew who would talk easily with you and who you might just have a few words with.

I've never been to one of these and if I did go I'd focus on the activity lol I guess if I went to a philosophy group it would be easy to know who to meet with

Surprisingly there were some really sociable people there, it wasn't just all introverts nervously looking at each other :p I always felt included even if I felt a little nervous/quiet if that makes sense.

I'll actually be *near* Georgia in a month >_> idk where you live though if it's feasible to grab a dinner one night.
