I think I'm gonna watch it --- But I don't have to make this mistake, and I don't have to stay this way. Shinji, Asuka and Misato's VA from the original dub have been in the past three movies. What I'm about to say has no bearing on the story, but when I realised it during the credits, it blew my fucking mind. It pertains solely to the cast, not as like a "surprise spoiler secret character" sort of way but a "holy shit I didn't realise until I saw the credits" sort of way. Everyone from the original dub came back. Amanda Winn Lee came back to voice Rei. Jason C. Lee, her husband, came back to voice the nerdy bridge guy. Aoba's original dub voice came back too. I'll have to check out Gendo, Kaji, Kaworu and Fuyutsuki, as well as some other characters I won't mention for spoiler reasons. But I think they got the entire original dub cast back for this movie. It wasn't just Spike Spencer's curtain call. It was the entire original dub cast coming together for the last movie. And while I think the dub had its issues, knowing that makes this movie so much more meaningful to me. --- But I don't have to make this mistake, and I don't have to stay this way.
