When it's arbitrary? Yes. When it feels pointless? Yes. When it feels like you're making a change solely to pander who don't give a fuck about you and are never going to pay to read your comics anyway? Yes. Comic fans do indeed complain about those sorts of things.

It does not come across this way to all comic fans. In my experience it is only the angrier and more vocal ones. Most people that Ive encountered in actual comic shops and at conventions, alongside the majority of writers and artists, like the majority of this kind of progress. The comics are simply adapting to modern times.

The iceman thing was dumb. Theres no denying that.

Link was changed from being left-handed to right-handed.

Technically, it was only 2 games, IIRC SS and BotW. While he was right handed for the Wii Version of TP, he was left handed in the GC version. The Wii version was just mirrored

I wouldn't say I'm uppity about it. But he's like the one left handed video game character (thats well known anyways) and so I wasnt fond of the change. Doesn't ruin the games. It's just a nitpick.

i also hate it when characters have arbitrary characteristics. hair? no thanks. clothes? only if its some kind of armor or something. eye color? get outta here! if it's not plot-relevant, i don't wanna hear about it!

Early on in the movie batgirl kinda forces herseld on batman kissing him takinh her shirt off and he's very clearly not into it. Cant remember if they fucked or not. But batman makes some quip when she finally gets off of him that if you wherent convinced before demonstrates he wasnt into it. Causes a argument and he "fires" her iirc.

Ok just found part of the scene. He was little more into it than I remember. But it was him letting her have her way just to settle her down or some shit. She did straight put him in a lip lock aftee judo tossing his ass to the ground though.

Yeah i dont mind changing lesser characters. He is well known but is typically the last one youd think of out of the main 4 male robins. I didn't even know he exited until the arkham games. Even if todd was less popular he had one of the most infamous story arcs out of all the robins. Hell that comic made a crowbar damn near a joker trademark weapon

Yeah changinf someone to bi is fairly easy to do without ruining previous story.

I have a lot of personal head canon in games about characters beinf bi cause ir doesnt say they aint. Like I like to think noctis and prompto fooled around at some point. I swear twice In the game I saw prompto slap nocts ass. And you can through dialogue choices with the letters to luna make noct seem very much like hes not into her really. (It basically was an arranged marriage) And also link cause hes had hot women to choose from and he typically acts like he doesnt give a rats was about them other than ocassionally zelda. Link and big boss are pretty much my main 2 fictional character crushes lol

That tweet is exactly what I said. If a character doesn't explicitly cop to a certain sexuality, then they're not "changing" much of anything.

Arguing about change is a totally separate issue, because this isn't change at all.

I agree. Some do though cause they are insecure and wanna make sure people know they are straight. But then again some people in the closet do too. I do this weird thing if people question my sexuality I just tell them I do like women. Which is true but only half the truth.

To be fair, being bisexual isn't really a big change. Unless the character has explicitly mentioned a specific sexuality, being bisexual would not go against previous canon.

I still say pretty much any straight character can be made into a bi one without messing things up.

Being straight isn't really an important aspect of anyone's character.
