But I'm already up 2.85% in only like a month, so I suppose it's working out about as well as possible. I know it swings wildly year-to-year, but my dream is to out-earn my job so I can splurge and take a year's vacation to travel all over the world. Wouldnt surprise me if there were soon, but I also wouldnt be surprised if things keep going up for quite some time before we have one. Im a firm believer in getting in whenever you can just to get started and you are planning on holding on for the long term. I'm in a bunch of smaller cap companies and they've been correcting since February/March. Most experts say to slowly accumulate during market dips because in the long run the market always trends upward. You might be down for a while but it always comes back eventually. People have been calling for a crash basically since the last (real) one in 2007. Maybe it will, but more likely if you got in now it will continue to run long enough that you'd still be in the green after a correction by the time it comes, vs. waiting for it before buying.
