Surprisingly, itchy bites isn't the easiest thing to google because they all say infection and talk about an immediate wound.

I got bit on the thigh by a dog about a year ago and while only two teeth really got through, they both went hilariously deep and left two puncture scars. Recovery was about two weeks, as the muscle was constantly locking up for some reason. This all cleared up and it never got infected. But once a while, probably twice in a month, it'll itch like crazy to this day. Goes away after a few minutes, not to come back until weeks later.

Sometimes scars just itch. I know mine do once in a while, though I don't have any quite so deep.

Old scars
Old scars are considered to be at least 2 years old, and they can itch for a number of reasons.
Sometimes, a scar can make the skin feel very tight. This is often the case if scarring occurs after a skin burn. Tight, stretched skin is often itchier.
Also, if you suddenly experience weight or skin changes, the scar may itch more. The same is true if you have dry skin.

Weird mine never itches that I'm aware of.

I remember being so amazed by the fact I could see my layer of fat tissue that the pain wasnt really registering.
