Conservatives try to paint this picture that they are just pragmatists about law and order but when research shows the genuine harm and cost to society this kind of legal consequence causes, conservatives continue to just double down on. Why is that?

but the production and distribution of some drugs have really hurt some communities, like crack for largely black communities, and stuff like heroin and meth for largely white communities.

Disagree in the case of supplying life-wrecking, highly addictive drugs like meth or heroin.

Agree in the case of posession (for one's own use, rather than sale) of any drug, or supply of lower-risk drugs like cannabis, ecstacy, etc.
