Native Americans are treated no worse than any other citizen of the US which is a rather low bar to start with.

Sorry, but 100% incorrect. There are things that Native Americans experience that those outside of their reservations, have 0 clue of such as open uranium pits abandoned and left open within a stones throw of neighborhoods, a ridiculously low number forced on them for the amount of livestock each family can own (excess livestock are annually rounded up, shoot and buried in mass, every single year. Excess being anything over 3 for example on the Navajo Rez) and being told things, off the record, by government representatives that would never be written down in an official document, but are blatantly racist if not flat out evil.
I have very close friends on a few reservations that I have spent time with, before Covid. The things Ive seen and been told are at the minimum shocking. I could relay more but it doesnt matter. No one listens to them nor do they listen to anyone that knows about them.
I completely understand why they dont say much about it so I follow the example of my friends. How long does one stand in front of a river demanding that it reverse course before you realize that it will never happen?
Believe what you want, but it is wrong.

Can you give me some guidance for what you're looking for?
I will have to get back to you on that.

You've never had anyone pull down their pants to help you determine their sex, nor demanded a chromosome test.
I would prefer that most people don't show me their genitals. I'm not looking to do anything with them.

Example: A person walks up to you. This person has quite a bit of body hair, wide shoulders, but also appears to have breasts and small hands. What is this person's sex?
From the description it doesn't sound like I would find this person physically attractive. Their sex is irrelevant.

Who said that?

Okay, let's put aside the fact that the last of those genocidal schools ended in 1978. Yes. Less than fifty years ago, the US government was still committing active genocide against indigenous Americans.

Refer to this document and scroll down to point 5:
https://www.ojp.gov/pdffiles1/nij/249815.pdf
This source is a great example of the sort of violence pretty much every indigenous American group faces across both the USA and Canada. This is not even mentioning what happens to them in Central and South America; the current leader of Brazil is a fucking genocidal lunatic and he is quite open about it.

To this day the US government and various corporations continue to create new violations of the already grossly violated treaties formed with the tribal nations. I would have expected that the outright mixed reaction to the discovery of mass graves of children in Canada prompting calls to look for the same in the USA would have woken you up to the fact that US institutions were brutalizing little children up until 1978... and have been sitting on evidence of doing so ever since to avoid the consequences, and DO NOT want people going to look for it. There's nothing equitable about any of this.

God, this isn't even going into local stuff. The destruction of rivers on tribal land, the constant abductions of indigenous women... in the town where I used to live, currently run by a Q-anon mayor, the local government is blocking the local tribe from building an important social service center on property that THE TRIBE OWNS and, yes, they are using racist conspiracy theories to justify doing so. That's just a tiny glimpse of the absolute bullshit they have to put up with every day, and yes, it IS racially motivated. The US government still wants that land, and racists still want to brutalize indigenous people with impunity (and there are laws and supreme court rulings on the books TODAY that help them get away with doing so). Edit: It's worth pointing out that the Violence Against Women Act actually has sections that are supposed to help mitigate some of those aforementioned rulings (and yes, that means that the people who do not vote to renew the Violence Against Women Act are literally pushing to allow for more legal immunity to non-indigenous rapists of indigenous people) but it is hideously insufficient.

Thank you very much for illustrating my point for me. You are not interested in the topic at hand; you just care about talking points peddled to you from ideologues. You aren't asking questions to learn- you're asking questions in the hopes that someone will have some sort of "hole" that you can insert some hack's snarky one-liner into, and when you don't find any, you just disengage and wave it off with a sort of limp-wristed one-liner. Sad.

Perhaps I am not phrasing this well...
I think you're making your point just fine. I see whether a person is a man or a woman an entirely functional issue. If you're not performing that function with them it doesn't matter. I think what you're trying to address is that methods for determining if a person is compatible in that function is often best guess. No one is really thinking about chromosomal composition when making that determination. Further people can confuse cultural practices meant to facilitate that function with something that is innate to the sexes as opposed to being learned.

If you're even just mildly into the history of taxonomy
I'm not, but I expect there was some new discovery or a better tool for analysis that lead to rethinking previous conclusions. That's of interest to me.

seeing old examples of people rigorously trying to defense Linnaeus' work is, um... pretty pathetic, tbh.
Now I'm curious what their arguments were. Did they not trust the new methods? I assume it was DNA research which may not have been accessible to many.
To wikipedia...
Wait, did he think minerals were living things?
Looks like the micro-organisms really muddled things up too.

So it makes sense that I wouldn't have heard about that. It sounds like it wouldn't be common knowledge to know to look up information on. I had heard that the US government restricts people from growing their own food. It sounds like this is happening on a larger scale. As for the mines, what do the people there want done with them and what is getting in the way of that?

They want the mines closed up and made safe, at least as safe as they can be made.
The Government was supposed to clean the areas and take all the necessary actions, but they havent. The reason? The same reason for anything else on the Rez.
It just never happens. When Trump took office a new agreement was reached- Close up the old pits and then new ones would be opened and worked. As always happens, new ones were opened and of course, the old ones were never closed.
Its just how it is. No one listens to them because their complaints are just blown off as There they go again.
Same thing with African Americans and the police. George Floyd was nothing new to us. Weve seen it for years. Ive personally seen what the police have done when I lived in Los Angeles.
There they go again Always falsely accusing the police of grave abuses
When it was finally recorded and went viral, guess who wasnt surprised?
Nothing is true until a certain segment of the population sees it.
When they see it, thats when it matters, to some of them.
That is one aspect of systemic racism. Its not overt (unless youre the one suffering from it) and since the voices arent considered legitimate, no one listens or cares.
This is one of the things that CRT tries to address.
