Or heres an idea: force landlords and rental companies to rent homes for fair prices ($300 for an apartment and $600 for a house), then corporate businesses can continue paying shit wages that would actually pay peoples rent.

Its one or the other; these CEOs are so political that theyre practically congressmen, so they need to drive down the cost of rent and medical expenses if they want to continue operating. If neither of these happens, then the entire fast food business is going to go down. Couple this with the fact that, for whatever reason, customers are now wrathful, sadistic pieces of human shit and no wonder nobody wants to put up with it.

On another note, theyre still paying $12 (minimum wage) here. Someone posted a topic yesterday about Taco Bell hiring for $10/hr.

On, really? I remember when I worked at Burger King, we would put hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars into the register during every meal rush.

They could easily afford $33/hr, but they dont want to take less profit. Less for the CEOs, less for the shareholders.

I'm convinced that big businesses like McDonald's would be able to pay double the minimum wage, not raise prices and still make whatever profit they normally do. Better pay = better quality workers which leads to better service, products and more customers.

It will not have as little an impact on their bottom line as you think. For publicly traded companies to pay their employees more, the shareholders still have to be appeased. Ergo, raising the prices to pay for the increase in salary and also more profit for the company = shareholders happy.

$15 should have been the minimum wage 10 years ago. It's not enough now. This is like bringing someone rubbing alcohol for an infection they got 6 weeks ago, and has since gotten so much worse that they may need surgery.
