How do you rank X, X-2, and XII?

X is by far the best of those options IMO

Id put X-2 over XII because of the job class system, as well as you being in control of your team, rather than the gambit system.

Boy, that was a toughie. Love all three, but voted X>XII>X-2.

X is a bit more magical to me than the other two, but by a slight margin. As Im writing this I hear the battle theme note for note playing in my head and just know my answer is correct. Its a gamer thing. :)

XII because I really like the license board and the job class system.

X I really enjoyed, but I found the sphere grid pretty sucky and unoriginal. Plus Tidus was kinda a lame main character, especially after Cloud and Squall who I both found badass.

I suggest playing 10 then 12 then 10-2 so you dont get burned out

X > XII. Never played X-2, but I'd probably like it due to the Dress Spheres being like the job system from what I heard.

And I haven't played Zodiac Age, but I do not like the original version of XII at all.

anyway I think I enjoyed XII more than X but I suggest like solosnake above to play X first, then XII then X-2

Haven't played X-2 yet, though I do plan on it eventually (I have the X/X-2 remaster on PS4, I just haven't gotten around to playing it). XII is probably my favourite game in the series, so even though I really like X I can't rate it higher

I can definitely see why people would have a really hard time getting into the gambit system (a little weird and obtuse even by FF standards) or the extremely political world, story or characters of XII... And if none of those things is compelling to someone, it's a tough case to make for finishing the game.

man to me once you get the hang of the gambit system it's really nice to use, so much stuff you can do, I guess the story is sort of like most of the stories in Ivalice, also in a game like Tactics Ogre, dude just like to make political complicated stories

I think the main problem with 12 is it feels like they ran out of time when developing the game. Still a great game though. Its like an offline version of 11 in a way.
