The hype of the Nazis literally lives through the USA because they were able to save the economic heartland country from the advancing soviets and they worshipped former Nazis because they needed people with military experience against the USSR (cold war) and of course these dudes aren't going to blame themselves for losing the war lmao. Hypothetically, if the battle of the bulge was a little more successful and delayed the Allied forces in the Ardennes and the Soviets were able to reach the Rhine then their view point would be completely different.
