Of the Dragon Quest games I've played, it ranks number 1, and while that might seem like no praise at all considering it's the only one I've played, I did think it was really good.

I put it as 3rd best.

First being V and second being XI.

The QoL changes and modernization in DQXI are fucking fantastic. The magic stat actually works in that game.
