Yes. One time I talked to a vegan on reddit and told him I was going to eat fried chicken. He laughed and wanted me to die of a heart attack because of it.

Lets be clear hereVegans dont give a damn about your health or mine.

That would be a vegetarian.

To validate their lifestyle, for the most part. Meat is healthy if youre not eating fast food processed garbage. Humans have teeth for meat, which is indicative of the fact that its a natural part of our diet.

This is a stupid take. I'm not sure how to explain to someone who would come to such a stupid take that vegans are not a hivemind.

I mean there's also the fact that the only reason humans evolved to have brains as big as we do is because of eating meat.

True, thats why snakes and gators have the biggest brains and the mostly vegan apes were related to arent as smart as these reptiles.

Or it was the discovery of starch and fire that allowed for a more steady supply of glucose, the fuel our brain uses.

Or maybe, just maybe it's because we lacked the physical advantages those animals have so we needed to become more intelligent to survive and even thrive in spite of our disadvantages.

Right, now youre gettin it.

We didnt need more protein to facilitate our expanding powerful gator jaws. Thats not our evolutionary path.

We needed access to larger consistent pools of glucose to facilitate our expanding, expensive, glucose burning brains.

Starch, cooking/processing food evolved us into what we are today. It wasnt the old monkey discovers meat pop culture meme.

Who do you mean by "our"? Because the human species is roughly 1.8 million years old, so this 75 million number is just blatantly untrue. It also sounds like whatever the hell you read was talking about brain structure, not brain size. Our brains are bigger then any previous human species. Humanity as a whole developed bigger brains as a direct result of eating meat, the fossil record shows this.

To be fair, at least in the US, adopting a vegan diet does indirectly reduce your risk of those things, since the vast majority of the unhealthy junk that leads to such high rates of said conditions, is not vegan-friendly.

While I don't know this for sure, I'd be willing to bet the gap goes away, or at least is much, much less, once that factor is controlled for.

We continued to get smaller mouths and bigger glucose burning brains.

You think that change was caused by suddenly eating animals and not from learning to process food to unlock more stores of glucose?

Can you tell if Harvard is being sarcastic?
