Who do you mean by "our"? Because the human species is roughly 1.8 million years old, so this 75 million number is just blatantly untrue. It also sounds like whatever the hell you read was talking about brain structure, not brain size. Our brains are bigger then any previous human species. Humanity as a whole developed bigger brains as a direct result of eating meat, the fossil record shows this.

We didnt need more protein to facilitate our expanding powerful gator jaws. Thats not our evolutionary path.

We needed access to larger consistent pools of glucose to facilitate our expanding, expensive, glucose burning brains.

Starch, cooking/processing food evolved us into what we are today. It wasnt the old monkey discovers meat pop culture meme.
