There were no gates on my community. But there also weren't the cop patrols that are a common feature of the cities some assume have turned into hellholes because crime has risen to 2013 levels. The safest communities do not have the most cops. They have the most resources.

If you're making the assumption that more cops somehow means more crime then you should just stop posting, hopefully forever.

That may be but it did not make BLM look good at all. We did have peaceful protests in the city nearest to me. They even had the county sheriffs walking with them in solidarity.

Except theres nothing that supports this. Theyre out there everyday. Spending majority of their time in those areas because thats where the calls for service, thats where the crime is at. Cops were out there every day last year

That's true, and it definitely hurt the democratic party (we even lost seats because of it, iirc), but it doesn't change the fact that they were largely peaceful.

I'm not trying to pick on DarkPrince but I remember him bragging about a girl at a BLM protest getting a brick thrown in her face, then asking the cops for medical help.

A lot of cops and people who are okay with the current status quo of police standards seem to do that.

It may not be the ideal solution but it would stop most of the cop related fatalities. It wouldnt do anything to curb black on black violence though which I think is a bigger issue than cops killing black people.

Also Chicago isn't as dangerous as the media claims it is. You'd think its the most dangerous city in America's but it's actually not even in the top 20. It actually came behind Atlanta in murder rate and Atlanta is 22. Chicago is 28 not that bad considering its reputation and size and history. St. Louis Missouri in reality has been consistently at the top of the murder charts

We have yet to see any significant data that isn't provided with a lack of a suitable sample size in both time and attention to actual defunding.

There are many factors that could lead to an uptick in crime without it being automatically assumed defunding is the reason. More police are butthurt over the past year. Resignations and retirements are at a significant high. Departments haven't had time to get properly used to defunding. Lots of these data samples come from half assed defunding then refunding again measures.

When people use the move towards defunding as a sudden gotcha, they fail to realize that a year's worth of data has never been enough to accurately measure any sociological statistic, let alone criminal.

Let's see if this gotcha holds up with 5 years worth of data as opposed to barely a year with already disgruntled and entitled racist cops.

You don't have to be a genius to know crime has risen in the ghettos thanks to the defund police movement. But I don't care otherwise, the police have never helped me when I needed it, I live in a rich community and I have shit tons of guns and rifles.
