Rise Against has one of my favorite vocals leading in Tim McIlrath, reminds me a bit of At The Drive in with vocal control and pacing, especially newer AtTDi like Relationship of Command. Their previous 2017 release Wolves was pretty good, but for some reason the sound quality on it is pretty shitty. Their 2014 release The Black Market was a good well rounded album. Haven't really listened to anything new by The Offspring but the song Turning Into You from their 2012 album was pretty amazing. Id say if I had to compare the two that would be the difference. Where I like The Offspring songs, I like entire albums of Rise Against. Of course these bands really aren't all that comparable in terms of sub genres other than they are popular. Better comparison to The Offspring would be like Zebrahead who I think does what The Offspring does significantly better.
