Dumb ass political shit ekes its way into everyday people. Every day morons use political figures as a justification for their stupid ass ideas and hate. This is 100% proven by the DRASTIC increase in anti-Asian crimes. Who sits in the stupid chair absolutely affects everyday people. You are a fuckin moron if you think otherwise.

Your entire life is politics. Every right you have or don't have is politics. Unless you live on a deserted island, the politics of your nation are affecting every day of your life.

I don't know how people act as if the decisions of lawmakers are somehow outside of society and don't affect it.

Politics isn't just bullshit election debates and talking heads on the news networks.

You absolutely missed the point of my point, but I wont blame you for that since its apparent youre trying very hard to justify how invested you are in the very thing that takes from you youre not the only one disenfranchised by politics

what do you want us to do
  1. The easiest thing in the world: if you see topics like this don't be the denier to it. Just don't participate. Absolutely free and easy. Costs nothing, not even effort.
  2. On the next step, don't let those who would take advantage of using media to spread lies get away with it. Here, social media sites, and in your life with others. Lies going unchallenged allows them to take root.
  3. Be aware of what's going on. That doesn't mean plug in 24/7. Checking in and the morning and the evening is usually more than enough to keep on top of what's going on.
  4. Seek to support and promote those doing good as you see it. Elevate them, especially if they can put things into words better than you can.
  5. From here, it's how comfortably you want to be active on the streets. Giving money is the least effort. Giving time is usually less expensive.

You literally think there will be extreme consequences if republicans get back in power? I didn't like Trump as much as the next guy but my life didn't change all that much even though I disagreed with a lot of his policies.
Yes, I think society itself is at stake. The very landscape of America has been transformed by his term, sowing the seeds for big changes by the Republicans if they come back to power. They haven't been shy about their vision for America. Also, people are hurt by politics all the time, so it doesn't really matter if your personal life wasn't affected much. You'd want sympathy if it was.

Politics doesn't take or give. It's merely a mechanism that operates our society. I have no problem with politics itself. Politics and government are necessary. I don't think anyone should be disenfranchised, so all you seem to be trying to convince me is that suffering is acceptable if you don't suffer alone and others suffer worse.

This is what you get in a democracy.

People can vote how they want and sometimes, maybe even often, their votes will not align with yours. This is not a defect. This is working as intended because you are not owed anyones vote.

This is conservative advocacy, although I don't know if you intended it to be that way.

The conservative looks at those kids playing and says "I have to protect them. Those kids right there. Those two or three or ten people in front of me, I want to nurture and protect them and see them succeed."

The progressive looks at that and says "why can't everyone have that? What is in place that prevents this enjoyable scene from being the norm for every single American?"

I'm sure you'd quietly accept how the world works if a party won that vowed to take rights away from you. No shit votes don't always go your way. Doesn't mean the vote can't sometimes have destructive consequences. No one would even need democracy if they all just accepted the world is what it is.

Racism started long before America, its a shame that in modern times they continued the disenfranchisement of people - but if youre telling me racism is strictly political then I have no idea what to tell you

Im not going to respond to Jim Crow, only fools think racism is strictly a political movement and not one with implications that mark what sort of twisted shit society is really into

It pretty much guarantees police reform will never happen if the GOP gets and keeps a majority again

Its sad that one of the many reasons I was happy to find out my baby is a girl was a half-black girl is probably slightly less likely to be murdered by a cop for having a blown tail light than a half-black boy is
