1. The easiest thing in the world: if you see topics like this don't be the denier to it. Just don't participate. Absolutely free and easy. Costs nothing, not even effort.
2. On the next step, don't let those who would take advantage of using media to spread lies get away with it. Here, social media sites, and in your life with others. Lies going unchallenged allows them to take root.
3. Be aware of what's going on. That doesn't mean plug in 24/7. Checking in and the morning and the evening is usually more than enough to keep on top of what's going on.
4. Seek to support and promote those doing good as you see it. Elevate them, especially if they can put things into words better than you can.
5. From here, it's how comfortably you want to be active on the streets. Giving money is the least effort. Giving time is usually less expensive.

Yes, I think society itself is at stake. The very landscape of America has been transformed by his term, sowing the seeds for big changes by the Republicans if they come back to power. They haven't been shy about their vision for America. Also, people are hurt by politics all the time, so it doesn't really matter if your personal life wasn't affected much. You'd want sympathy if it was.

Politics doesn't take or give. It's merely a mechanism that operates our society. I have no problem with politics itself. Politics and government are necessary. I don't think anyone should be disenfranchised, so all you seem to be trying to convince me is that suffering is acceptable if you don't suffer alone and others suffer worse.

The conservative looks at those kids playing and says "I have to protect them. Those kids right there. Those two or three or ten people in front of me, I want to nurture and protect them and see them succeed."

The progressive looks at that and says "why can't everyone have that? What is in place that prevents this enjoyable scene from being the norm for every single American?"
