He fed the cats cheap meat and hired ex-convicts because they couldn't really get easy work elsewhere. Guy loved the cats but also there were accusations he had killed ones that weren't "profitable" any more and got rid of the corpses. There was that bitch Carole Baskins who runs a 100% volunteer-based exotic cat nature preserve who has been lobbying the government to get zoos like Joe's closed down. She frequently referenced Joe specifically in her campaigns. Joe had a whole YouTube channel where he slammed her and made threatening videos about killing her and shit. Eventually Joe hired a hitman to off her, guy backed out, Joe got slammed and thrown in prison. Here's the kicker... All these damned zoos / preserves are fucked up. Carole Baskins is accused of killing her ex-husband and using the money she got to start up her preserve. All the people who work at her preserve are volunteers... and they fucking worship her and she gives zero shits about 99% of them lmao. Joe started his zoo out with a similar intent to what Carole is doing.
