French Director, Julia Docournau tells the story of a young girl who kills without a care in the world and pretends to be a boy despite being pregnant by a car There are extremely violent kills that ha people shielding their eyes but in the end won a standing ovation She admitted that some scenes are tough to watch but said even the goriest deaths has a narrative meaning even though she hates gratuitious violence herself IndieWire says it's one of the wildest movies he's ever seen as the hollywood reporter said this movie is competing for the Palme d'Or Others weren't so kind such as the Guardian who called it a car crash for its sheer silliness She also directed the horror movie RAW about a cannibalistic woman which also got rav reviews. Julie said she had a lot of anger when writing this film and had said "Trump had just been elected and the world was not a happy place. I was very pessimistic about the future and about a society that has no room for fluidity, transformation for change and inclusiveness and this movie was made after hearing he had won the election making a far worse world to live in".
