Before I made this topic, I checked out her Wikipedia page and it says that the has bisexual leanings. But it seems like she always danced around it a bit, and it's only later in her career that she hemmed close enough to put herself in that category. Like from what I've seen, her most definitive statement was "considering my feelings on the matter, I suppose you could put me in this category" - it doesn't sound like that's a label that she's 100% behind, although she does acknowledge her appreciation of women in her music.

The biggest example of this being the single she's most well-known for, Scar:

I always thought both verses were about a man, but the second verse uses she/her pronouns.

And it's like - was I never listening closely enough on the radio? Was there a radio edit or a seperately recorded version that changed the pronouns?

Either way, learning this years after the fact has been really cool and eye-opening. This song was huge when I was a kid, and I'm glad to have found it again. It's a really nice song when you remove it from the overplaying and the commercials it received at the peak of its popularity.
