Noctis was garbage as a earth DPS until he got his second hero ability, now he's legit. It's also combat so you can actually make use of his dualcast LMR.

Yeah he sleeps 4 people at some point which was ultra-obnoxious (on my 20% run I got lucky and was able to clear with Mog's AASB2 chase on his next move). I think the main issues for me were that I was using pretty low hit count abilities (Anima with Seymour, whatever the imperil ability's called with Vayne) and I couldn't get enough meter to use Golbez's sync after chaining with him... I guess I probably should have used a meter RM on him. I was basically constantly capping on everyone while the chain was up, so presumably fixing those issues could get me a win but it's just so annoying.

Actually it might be easier for me to ignore Golbez's chain and use the RW one so he can use his sync right away? Not sure how much I need his chain's buffs here, but probably worth a shot.

Hmm, I wonder if this was where I used Tyro's USB1 to block it. Though I think that was actually in whatever Odin battle that he tries to petrify you (lightning weak I think?). Could be worth a look though.

Also, the more I look at Diabolos, and the more I look at my options, the more I think I may go magic instead.

Yeah I was considering lensing Tyro's glint for it, though since I'm using a magic team Mog is definitely preferable if I can make sure the esuna chase goes off at the right time. Petrify was indeed lightning-weak (and was the Odin that gave me the most trouble). I lensed Tyro's USB1 for that, found out I really needed a last stand too, and then had to lens Edge's SSB and bring him along as otherwise dead weight... not fun!

Got my FF1 dreambreaker clear. It was easier than expected, got a 28.91 so I don't have to revisit that one. That's 17/18 DBs, just Shadowsmith is left. 7/18 sub-30.

Decided to try Kalavinka Striker for the hell of it (with overdrive). Got him slightly into P2 and then had no idea what was going on with the painting mechanic.

Painting mechanic is pretty simple... Any SB from you or any action from the boss takes the top one. You want to get the blue ones and avoid the red, white is mixed (it has both good and bad effects). I usually end up getting the white one too just to clear them faster so I can use SBs freely again. The actual effect is different for each boss.

Diabolos down in 30.20. Was soooo close to sub30 but had to re-up chain right at the end, and he jumped to savage 3, so that cut down DPS a little bit. Lost the first time at 85%. Timing that third phase is everything, because I have to destroy the rift, but only ONCE. Can't use Yuna's AOSB since she needs to make sure she has gauge for a second chain cast, so initially I used one of Hope's sync commands I think. He DCed, so it was back in the normal world, which wasted a turn, and then I got wasted lol. Was a bit more careful second time, and got the win.

So that's 6/8 physical and 2/8 magical done. Will get the opposites at some point too, but I'm pumped that I've finally beaten all the 6*s! For WOdin, do I have to get all 16 kills, or is the 8 enough?

You want to do all if you can. There are two main rewards:

- Lord's Gauntlet, an elemental armor that either boosts attack or magic depending which version you beat
- Odin Magicite, which has two versions (magic and physical) and 8 different elemental seals. You can inherit the seals on either version, so if you can only beat one magic Odin you can inherit passives from beating all the other physical versions (but you won't get the gauntlet)

And of course there are motes and lenses for rewards too. Oh and an artifact weapon dagger, but it's weaker than the artifact weapons we can select. Still can be useful occasionally.

How feasible is doing the WOdins with RW chain? The kill times I see are usually pretty long and I dont have very many teams with native chains...

You can use a RW chain but you'll need something with a big buff for damage like Cait Sith Awakening/sync or Quina Sync.

Going through some of the torments I haven't done yet. Just did the FFXIV one in 22.22. Alph SASB and Papalymo AASB basically nuked him.

Got all of FF I, II, XI, and XII to do, as well as the last torment level of FF III, VI, and T0. I want to get these all done to give a dreambreaker a shot. Nowhere close to Dragonking yet lol

Phrekyos melted to the demolition of Emperor and Minwu SASBs. Emperor had his AASB ready to go too, but wasn't needed, dead in 16.69. Took two tries though. First try, I was trying to go full burst and ate a 23k incubus starfall lol. Second time, I made sure I had used Hilda's USB first, so everyone had last stand up.

Gonna set up for FF I now I think. WoL SASB/AASB and Matoya AASB should hopefully be enough. I have Sarah's AASB, so healing should hopefully be set.

Ah yeah I still have five of those to go myself (and one dream). I just did XIIs with Mog solo healing last night to clear my weekly missions!

XIV is actually the one I typically use for farming; my fastest time on that is just over 11 seconds

And yeah two cap breaks should be enough for an effortless sub-30 on any of them as far as I can tell; I believe they came out when USBs were top-end tech? I mostly put them off just because I dont want to spend resources leveling/moting characters for whom I dont have any decent SBs.

Yeah they came out when stuff like ability double/chase USBs and AOSBs were the best stuff in the games. Awakenings and syncs decimate Torments now.

Tomorrow is FF3 Dragonking, the last Bahamut for a long time till the core one comes out. I'm hoping for a day 1 win but I'd feel a lot better if I had another cap break.

Aria instant cast USB
Mog (or maybe Cait Sith? I have Arc's instant cast chain so I can use that to overwrite the phase 3 full break)

Still annoyed I put all those tickets into FF3 and I didn't get CoD sync or Arc Awakening 2, but at least CoD has a overstrike HA so I don't have to use a cap break in phase 1 hopefully.

Make a great birthday present if I could 100 gem CoD's awakening 2 tomorrow DENA!

Oh I know, and for quite some time I was just doing log in bonuses and such, while quietly amassing some relics, but I'm still pumped I'm making progress for the first time in a while lol.

Garland down in the exact same time as Phekryos, 16.69. I clearly didn't read the description of Master's AASB correctly, which means I was very surprised when he quadcast ironfist earth lol.

Will set up my FF XI team a bit later tonight, but that shouldn't have issues. FF XII will be interesting, then it's just the last few level 3 torments to finish. Then I have to decide whether to go after an Odin first, or a dreambreaker.

@SSJSephirothGokuX123 I have almost exactly the same III team as you except no LBO and Cait Sith instead of Mog, and OK's realm chain instead of Arc's (so no way to counter full break). Also I don't have Aria's g+ which is inconvenient.

Blew my last 15 on the Water elemental banner at a yolo shot at Arc Awakening 2/sync and got Kimihari BSB.

Ugh. Damn Bahamut willies. Wish Arc Awakening 2 was on the dream select now but it becomes selectable next Dream select when the Bahamut missions likely expire.

I might be good for III Bahamut.

- OK is stacked with AASB, Sync and Dyad
- CoD with her AASB and the BDL HA should be very nice
- I hope those two can do enough work that a mediocre Arc with AASB1 is sufficient as tertiary dps.
- Aria sucks as a healer, but with some help from Mog she might be able to keep us alive.

I also have AASBs for Luneth and Ingus, but I think I'd rather not go for a mixed party.
I realized I have Arc's FB-counter realm CSB, so I could even try without Mog. Maybe drop Aria for a competent healer in that case.

Oh also one thing I forgot to mention is I'm going water with Arc since he'll be able to benefit from Mog's HA. Arc' main strength is that he supports OK with water imperils.

Well at least I got something for my birthday, I got Ingis' enfire LMR from the daily.

Have to catch up on the Bahamuts I missed though 1, 5, 9, 10 and 11. But since I missed the rat tails mission on them anyway I can wait.

III torment down

Arcs damage seems a lot lower than it should be to me, though; even with Mogs USB1 up he wasnt capping with holyja under his AASB2 until like 200 chain. I only have like half of his RB unlocked so I guess thats some of it, but still

This one is rough without Aria's proshellga glint. I have to use Cait's USB for proshellga which prevents me from using his awakening early and I keep having characters die in the first 4-5 turns (different characters since I'm trying different things but so far nothing that works)

Since the Dream Select is gonna close soon I made my second awakening pic, and I chose Faris 2 for Bahamut, and HOO BOY that seriously made a difference. That weakness damage boost went from me not even being able to get past phase 2 to finally beating the fucking bastard!



Man I can't believe people beat this guy 6 months ago day one! Even with hero gear on Bartz and getting more cap breaks this was still one of the hardest Bahamuts! FF5 Banners must be more popular than I thought...

Woah that's some bad luck considering how many relics Bartz gets. I think the pool is like 20% of his stuff alone.

Also finally glad to have the FFV Dragonking record boards unlocked too, since I was trying to get them for Bartz for Sandworm, but I already beat Sandworm (but they just announced previous nexus bosses with get a higher difficulty, great...) Oh and there's another wind labyrinth in the future with Earth Guardian. I still need to beat physical Kalavinka Striker so that buff is nice for Galuf, and Gogo 5 for magic Salamander.

On the plus side I do have an almost complete Galuf (S1/AA1+2, chain) though as a chain holder I cant really use all of that stuff in one fight! But yeah given how many elements Bartz covers missing his stuff is unfortunate.

Got Olan's Awakening on the lotr

I guess he needs his Sync to be super good though right (I actually already have Yuna and Mog as capable offrealm full break counters though)

If you want to use an off realm in cardia you'll need his sync (unless you already have an in realm full break counter) but he's still good for elemental bosses without it (well as long as you also have his glint+ for overwrite aegis as well.)

Orran's also better for physical teams because of his hero ability being the only other source of non-soul break physical quick cast besides Edward's HA. He also has bard for Ode to Victory and his BSB is a crit damage boost. And unlike Yuna and Mog he's not bothered by anti heal since his awakening uses HP stock.

5 Bahamut was absolutely terrible, I gave up on trying to beat him even though I had tons of cap breaks for Bartz and a pretty strong Lenna and Exdeath.

Seems like it's time I look up those Orran strats. After getting his AASB on the FFT 25-mythril banner 2 weeks ago, RoP now also gave me Sync. Awesome!

My most common way of using him is Ode to Victory in slot 1, his HA in slot 2, use his first three instant actions while the rest of the team is building up and then use his awakening on his 4th turn. If it's an RW chain lots of times I'll use it on his 3rd instant turn, if it's RW wall then I usually use it on his second (HA is usually first). Use sync/glint when needed to counter those debuffs. Reuse awakening when the first one runs out (it's definitely worth honing).

The one big exception I found is for labyrinth fights where they don't have a final phase full break. For those I've been using the sync when the first awakening wears off, and saving the second awakening for the final phase.
